The Governor of Buenos Aires Province, Axel Kicillof, announced the launch of the “MDF University and Science” space and questioned the national government's direction in scientific and educational policies. In a message posted on social media platform X, the leader stated: “We are here to plant the flag of national industry, science, and sovereignty,” as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening these sectors. According to the Argentine News Agency, Kicillof affirmed that the new space is a response to President Javier Milei's “austerity and destruction model,” and emphasized that “there is no development without science and education.” In this sense, the governor proposed that “another path” is possible and called for its construction through the defense of the scientific system, the public university, national industry, and sovereignty. The event was held on Thursday, April 9, in the Auditorium of Pavilion 2 of the University City, where the provincial leader seeks to position himself as a candidate for the upcoming 2027 elections.
